How To Activate The PC Version’s Console Commands To Cheat:
1.Go to Steam and right-click with your mouse on “The Evil Within” title, then select Properties,
and go to the “General” tab.
2.On that screen you can enter the following bolded text without quotes: “+com_allowconsole 1 _”.
3.Finally, you can press on the Insert keyboard key to open the Console Panel where you can type
the below listed Console Commands and then press the Enter key to activate each cheat.
4.This Cheatbook cheats list starts with the code to enter into the Command Console, and behind it
is the cheat description.
God – God mode. You are effectively invincible, and certain enemy kill moves will
not be used against you (Laura, for example, will not jump on you).
Noclip – Allows you to walk through walls.
G_infiniteammo – Unlimited ammo (provided you have at least 1 bullet when you enable this).
G_stoptime 1 – Stops time. Note there is a bug right now where using this command causes a UI
element to appear on screen. Bethesda are looking to fix that in the near future.
You can re-enable time with g_stoptime 0
Toggledebugcamera – Separates the camera from Sebastian so you can freely move around the [environment].
R_forceaspectratio – Sets the aspect ratio. Default is 2.5, which is our official aspect ratio.
0 is full screen, but not ideal.
1.8 or 2 is probably most comfortable for those who don’t want bars.
Com_showFPS – Turns on id’s native FPS counter.
Startslowmotion2 – Slows down time.
Stopslowmotion – Disables slow motion.
There’s even a way to get rid of the game’s 30 FPS lock. But you unlock it at your own risk,
only do it if you’re dying to see what the game looks like at 60 FPS!
R_swapinterval – Sets the FPS lock. Note that the numbers below are negative.
I. -2: This is the default, set to 30 FPS. This is the officially supported frame rate.
II. -1: This sets the FPS limit to 60. Fully playable, although there may be quirks
III. 0: This fully unlocks the FPS. The game develoeprs do not recommend playing above 60.
And they will not fix any issues you have above 60.
Unlockable New Game Plus:
New Game + returns in The Evil Within. To unlock NG+ complete the game on any difficulty level — and
only when you play that same difficulty level again (it’s locked) — then your weapons, items and
upgrades will carry over to your new game. This is done to help you, since on your New Game +
playthrough the enemies will be tougher!
Extra Modes and Weapons:
You can unlock additional content in-game by satisfying the corresponding requirements,
as indicated below.
New Game+ – Beat the game once on any difficulty.
Nightmare Difficulty – Beat the game once on any difficulty.
Machine Gun – Beat the game once on any difficulty.
Rocket Launcher – Beat the game once on any difficulty.
Brass Knuckles – Beat the game once on Nightmare difficulty.
High-Powered Sniper Rifle – Collect all map fragments.
Burst Pistol – Collect all map fragments.
Automatic Handgun – Beat the game with a complete archive.
Chapter 7: Easy Green Gel:
Play Chapter 7 under the Survival difficulty setting. While progressing, conserve as much ammunition
and trap parts as possible. Take advantage of the existing spike traps to kill various enemies. If
done correctly, you will encounter the Keeper boss with about 30 traps and a decent amount of ammunition
for your various weapons. Start the Boss battle as usual by shutting down the poison gas. After closing
the final valve, remain in the area and keep fighting. The Keeper boss will keep respawning from the
safes about thirty times. Keep defeating him to get 2,000 Green Gel each time. With fully upgraded
damage on your harpoon bolts and pistol, only one hit with each of those weapons will be enough to
take him down. By the end of all the fights, you should have collected about 70,000 Green Gel.
Note: You cannot damage Keeper for a few seconds after he spawns. To get more trap parts, use the
Keeper’s barbed wire mines. Simply wait for the Keeper to deploy his mines then kill him. Then,
use the free time during his respawn to disarm the mines. Note: Keep a sniper rifle or shotgun in
reserve in the event that you run out of harpoon bolts.
Easy “À La Corvo” achievement:
During Chapter 2, the only zombie you are allowed to kill to get the “À La Corvo” achievement is
the very first one where you obtain the revolver. You may damage other zombies, but do not kill
them with your weapons or melee attacks. However, it is fine if they walk into traps and kill them
selves. This does not count as a kill and will not void the achievement. Just run past all enemies.
It does not matter if they see you or not. When you reach the gate, you have to open it with a crank.
Some zombies will wake up nearby and attack you. When this happens, let go of the crank and lure them
far away. Then, run back to the gate and open it.
Beat the game on nightmare mode to unlock brass knuckles for new game plus.
Easy “The Quick and the Dead” achievement:
Complete the game once, then use as much time as desired to get the remaining green gels for all
the upgrades. Also salvage parts and ammunition. When your ammo and skills are ready, start a speed
run in New Game + mode from Chapter 1 under the casual difficulty setting. Starting a New Game+ from
any other chapter will retain your previously recorded time, but starting from Chapter 1 will reset
all subsequent times. Once started, play as fast as possible. Keep in mind that cinematics will add
to your time; skip them whenever possible. Skip collecting gel, and get ammunition only when it is
in plain sight. Go to the safe room only required. Save the rocket launcher and Magnum for Bosses,
along with incapacitating bolts.
Burst Pistol and High Powered Sniper Rifle:
After collecting all map fragments and unlocking NG+ Mode. Start a NG + game with your cleared game
data. Once you have access to the back area where you unlock the “morgue body holder cabinets” that
you open with keys go to the right where the map fragment holder is. It will be glowing red as long
as you have all fragments earned. Interact with this map and a attache case will appear on the nearby
table containing the Burst Pistol and High Powered Sniper Rifle. To use them go to your inventory and
hit the button above the weapon icon (at the top left of the icon) )I used an xbox 360 controller on
my PC so for me it was “X” ) and swap between the regular pistol and sniper rifle at any time.
