Match special pieces!
As is the case with any match-3 puzzle game, special pieces are the key to beating the levels in a timely manner. The special pieces in My Home Design Dreams are pretty similar to other match-3 games, so you might be familiar with them.
- Matching four pieces creates a drill. Drills will match all pieces in the row or column, depending on the direction they’re facing. You can move them once to detonate them, or you can simply tap on them twice.
- T-shape or L-shape formations creates a bomb. Bombs blow up and match all nearby pieces. Just like the drill, you can move them once or tap them twice.
- Square-shaped matches create missiles. When activated, missiles will match all adjacent pieces, then fly to a piece that you need to complete the level and match it. Great for getting those hard-to-reach pieces.
For every move you have left over once you complete your final objective, you will be rewarded with a random special piece somewhere on the board. They will all go off sequentially, meaning that you might even create more special pieces as regular pieces fall down onto the board. Every match you get gives you bonus coins, so if you can conserve as many moves as you can, you will be rewarded with extra coins!
Try to find the “setups”!
When you first hop into a level, don’t make the first move you see right away. Instead, take a moment to observe the board. The beginning of a level is the only part of the level that isn’t randomized – all of those pieces have been set there on purpose. This means that some levels will have “setups” that you need to see to take advantage of.
Consider level 4 – there are three corner boxes that are separated from the main part of the board. Inside each of these boxes are three white pieces, with the one extra white piece off to the side. If you catch this, you will be able to make three missiles that will help you reach your goal faster.
Don’t miss your daily log in gift!
After completing level 4, you will unlock the daily gifts. You will need to log into the game at least once every day for seven days. If you can manage this, you will be rewarded with a special piece of furniture on the seventh day. It’s nice and pink, so don’t miss out on it. Even if you do, the daily log in gift rewards you with helpful stuff like boosters and money.
That’s all for My Home – Design Dreams! If you have any other designing tips or tricks you’d like to share, let us know in the comments below!
1. Don’t Spend More Than You Can Actually Afford
Though at first you may feel tempted to purchase the best and most expensive furniture, it will do nothing but make you run out of money quickly. Be patient and wait until you can actually afford them. If you play hard and you get style points, you will earn your well-deserved money. And then you will be able to buy all the available good stuff. If you can’t afford a piece of furniture or it is blocked, you can always buy a cheaper one and replace it with the one you want at a later stage. However, for cost-effectiveness, it is advisable to be patient and wait until you can afford or you unlock the desired piece of furniture.
2. You Decide How To Play
You can play only the match-three game and ignore the designs
If you are interested in playing the match-three game solely, you can do that. You can ignore the designs and keep playing level after level, indefinitely. You can use your cash to buy new lives when necessary.
3. Aim For The Style Points
The more style points you get, the more features you will unlock
If you like a piece of furniture and you have the necessary coins to buy it, all you have to do is tap on it and it will get added. Each time a piece of furniture is placed, you will earn style points. And this basically means that the more style points you manage to get, the more customizable items you will unlock.
4. Blend The Tiles And Unlock New Houses To Renovate
Aim for the special tiles
The levels themselves give you the possibility to blend tiles and achieve special ones. For example, if you make four in a row, you will get a line-clearing tile. If you make a T, L, or + match, you will get a bomb tile. Five tiles in a row will get you a rainbow tile. Two rainbow tiles together will allow you to clear everything. Put two bombs together and you will get a huge one! If you mix two line-clearers together, you will be able to clear lines vertically and horizontally. Mixing a rainbow tile with a line-clearer or a bomb allows you to set line-clearers or bombs on tiles of a specific colour. By mixing tiles you will be able to unlock more houses for you to renovate. However, you can’t unlock a new house until you completely decorate the house you are working on.
