Collect some batteries while you are at it!
The way Toy Story Drop separates its levels is through battery gates. Each set of levels must be unlocked by powering the battery gates that block your way. These gates are powered directly by the blue batteries you collect in the levels. If you want to unlock the new levels in a timely manner, be sure to match the batteries at your convenience if you have the moves to spare.
Create and match the special boosts!
As is the case with all match-3 games, matching more than three pieces at a time will result in a boost piece being left behind. Matching four pieces will create a toybox that punches out a whole row or column, and matching five pieces will create a disco ball that will immediately match all pieces that it collides with.
Matching four pieces in a box-formation will leave a play ball that explodes and matches all nearby pieces! Matching pieces in an L or T formation will create a rocket that will fly by and immediately match one of the pieces you need towards the level goal!
Special boosts are crucial for completing some of the later levels, so it is important that you get into the habit or trying to create them as much as possible. They will make it much more easier to attain the level goal!
Conserve your moves!
Try to plan ahead and make every move count. Toy Story Drop is a little more liberal with the amount of moves you get in each level, but it gets just as challenging during the later levels where you have very little room for error. Do not just match the first combination you see – take a look at the board and make sure that you are working towards a special boost or the level objective.
Use your boosts wisely!
The three boosts you can choose before heading into a level can really help, but you need to make sure that you are not using them on every level. You need coins to buy more boosts, so it is important to only use them when you need to. If you fail a stage, that is okay, because now you will have a better handle on what special pieces can help you the most.
The Flying Saucer and the Claw can also really save you if used at the exact right moment. As you learned in the tutorial, these special boosts can move pieces around for you or take them out completely, so they require careful timing to be the most effective.
